How to Reuse Your Candle Glasses After the Wax Melts

Triple Berry Twist Full Glass

At Aroma On The Rocks, we create candle experiences that are as sustainable as they are beautiful. Our cocktail-inspired soy wax candles come in elegant barware glasses, designed not just to enhance your home but to be reused once the wax is gone. When your candle has burned down, don’t toss the glass! Here are some creative ways to repurpose your candle glasses for a new life:

1. Create Your Own Mini Planter

Once the wax is gone and the glass is cleaned, you can turn it into a small succulent or cactus planter. The glasses’ sturdy construction makes them perfect for holding small plants. Add a layer of pebbles at the bottom for drainage, and you’re ready to grow a little greenery in your home.

2. Organize Your Small Items

Need a chic way to organize your desk or vanity? Use your candle glass to store small items like paper clips, hairpins, cotton swabs, or even jewelry. The sleek design makes them a great addition to any workspace or bathroom counter while keeping everything tidy and accessible.

3. DIY Drinkware or Glasses

Transform your used candle glass into a unique drinking glass or shot glass. This is a fun and sustainable way to recycle your barware after the wax has melted. Whether it’s for casual gatherings or a special event, these repurposed glasses can add a personal touch to your drinks. Decorate your glass with glass charms, paint, or etching cream to give your glass a custom, new life.

4. Create a Table Centerpiece

Turn your empty candle glass into a stylish vase. Perfect for a single flower or a small bouquet, these repurposed glasses can serve as beautiful, elegant decor pieces. They are ideal for creating a subtle yet sophisticated touch in any room or table.

5. Use as a Bathroom Accessory Holder

The size and shape of your candle glass make it perfect for organizing bathroom accessories. Use it to hold toothbrushes, makeup brushes, or cotton balls. This easy repurposing option adds a polished and practical touch to your bathroom décor.

6. A Stylish Match Stick Holder

If you’re still in the mood for ambiance, use the glass as a match stick holder. Fill the glass with your favorite matches to have an aesthetic way to light your next candle.

7. Gift Holder

Repurpose your candle glass as a creative gift holder. Whether you’re giving jewelry, candy, or small accessories, the glass provides an elegant container. Wrap it in a pretty ribbon and a gift tag, and you’ve got a unique and personal gift presentation.

Cleaning Your Candle Glass

To reuse your candle glasses, it’s important to remove the remaining wax and wick. Here’s how:

  • Step 1: Let the wax cool completely. If there’s any leftover wax, you can place the glass in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This will help the wax shrink and make it easier to remove. Wax amount should be as minimal as possible.
  • Step 2: Scrape out the wax and remove wick. Use a spoon or butter knife to gently remove the leftover wax and wick from the sides and bottom of the glass. Please be very careful, and DO NOT stick your hands or fingers in the glass as it may cause it to shatter and cut your hand. For skinnier glasses, we recommend a pair of needle nose plyers for leverage as needed. If you do not wish to scrape the wax, the turn the glass upside-down on a paper towel. Utilize a hair dryer on low heat, and watch as the wax melts down and onto the towel easily.
  • Step 3: Clean the glass. Wash the glass with hot soapy water and a sponge to remove any remaining residue. You can also use rubbing alcohol to clean off any wax that’s stuck to the surface. We highly recommend Dawn Dish Soap and paper towels to remove most residue. Once your candle glass is cleaned and dried, it’s ready for a new life!

At Aroma On The Rocks, we believe in both relaxation and responsibility. Reusing your candle glasses not only adds a sustainable touch to your home but also gives your candle experience a second life. From functional storage to decorative accents, the possibilities are endless. So, the next time you finish burning your favorite cocktail-inspired candle, don’t toss the glass — give it a new purpose and keep the good vibes going!
